1. DESCRIPTION
The new Handi-Pak SA 2200 Series 2 is a form fill and seal sachet machine that has
been developed and improved over the past 25 years, specifically for South African conditions i.e.
. robust
. easy to run
. capable of sustained heavy production
. easily managed by staff with low technical ability and most importantly,
. reliable sealing
. accurate filling
. high degree of safety
2. CONSTRUCTION
The exterior is constructed mainly in stainless steel except for the polycarbonate safety
enclosure.
The cabinet has a monocoque construction making the machine strong and rigid.
The mechanisms of the machine are fully mechanical which results in consistent
accurate timing, movements and pressures.
These are essential for:
. accurate filling
. accurate bag lengths
. reliable sealing.
3. SPECIFICATIONS
3.1 Motor Drive: .35 kw 3 phase motor for main drive
.15 kw 3 phase motor for unwind
3.2 Unwind System: Unwind rollers driven by a dedicated electric
motor with quick unwind length adjustment
facility (flick of a switch changes from one
size to another).
3.3 Roll Feed: Roll feed with brake system to feed on demand with
constant tension.
3.4 Guide Rollers: Stainless steel with ball bearings.
3.5 Fill System: FOR LIQUIDS
50 litre 450 mm diameter stainless steel float level
controlled tank with adjustable flow rate valve to
adjust filling volume required. Tank lid secured &
sealed for tank to withstand 3 Bar CIP pressure.
FOR VISCOUS PRODUCTS(YOGHURT,OIL ect)
Volumetric piston filling system.
3.6 CIP Facility: FOR LIQUIDS
Fill system can be connected to plant CIP for
complete CIP cleaning. A dedicated CIP system
can be supplied for the machine as an extra.
3.7 Vertical Seal System: Ribbon impulse seal on articulated self aligning water
cooled jaw. The rear seal is standard, with a seal
width of 4 mm.
3.8 Horizontal Seal: High pressure system. Impulse sealing with water
cooled jaw.
4. FILL VOLUMES
Standard machine:
All sizes between 100 ml and 1 000 ml. Sachet width 150 mm.
Normal length for 250 ml = 100 mm
Normal length for 1 000 ml = 224 mm
5. SPEED
Standard speed: 2 000 per hour (Quality of plastic affects speed.)
Speed for fruit juices: 2200 x 250 ml per hour
2200x 1 litre per hour.
Speed with volumetric attachment: 1800 x 250 ml per hour
(for yoghurt ,oil etc) 1200 x 1 000 ml per hour

8. DELIVERY
To be confirmed at time of final negotiation. It is normally about 8 weeks after order but
this obviously varies depending on the work load.
It must be emphasized that it is essential for even the smallest machines to be commissioned
to ensure that they are correctly operated and produce the correct results from day one.
Handi-Pak indemnifies themselves from any problems that arise if commissioning is waived.
10. DELIVERY COST (in South Africa)
At cost of road motor transport or other means of transport, crating & insurance.
11. COMMISSIONING AND DELIVERY COSTS ABROAD
On application.
12. PLASTIC SHEETING
It is very important to ensure that you purchase good quality sheeting with acceptable tack
properties.
13. PAYMENT TERMS
13.1 South Africa
13.1.1 Equipment.
Fifty percent with order. Balance at time of delivery but before delivery
and commissioning is commenced.
13.1.2 Commissioning and delivery
Payable to technician after commissioning.
13.2 Abroad: 50% Deposit.
50% Confirmed irrevocable letter of credit, due against sight of shipping documents
confirmed by First National Bank in South Africa, before we commence production
and cost of confirmation to be borne by the buyer. Payment at sight of shipping
documents. Reimbursement by the confirming bank to be within 6 (six) UK
working days from authenticated claim.
17. GUARANTEE
This guarantee is for a period of 6 months against faulty parts but does not include
normal wear and tear and excludes travelling and technician’s time and it also excludes
adjustments to the machine after commissioning.
In no event of performance or mechanical failure will the supplier be accountable for
any form of consequential loss.
19. CONDITIONS OF PURCHASE (see attached)
No machine is sold that is not subject to these conditions which form an inseparable
part of this offer.
This offer is valid for four weeks from the date of the covering letter.
